Dental Implants

Invest in Your Future Health

Dental Implant PatientsDental implants represent the latest tooth-replacement option. An artificial tooth root is placed in the jawbone for a more natural design. Implants are stand-alone anchors, permanently affixed to secure individual teeth (crowns), a row of teeth (bridges), or dentures. With advances in modern dentistry, missing teeth have largely become a thing of the past.

Implants for: Individual Tooth Replacement

‘Implant crowns’ look, feel, and function like natural teeth and are designed to last for a lifetime. Dr. Baluschak works closely with a specialized oral surgeon who places a post for every implant that you need. Once the post area has healed well, Dr. Baluschak prepares the area to receive an implant crown, which he then permanently secures to the post. Implants are quickly replacing bridges as a form of treatment for replacing a missing tooth. Unlike old fixed-bridges, implants do not require the crowning of neighboring teeth. Implants function independently and look just like a natural tooth. If you need teeth replaced to reestablish your smile confidence and good oral function, talk with Dr. Baluschak about Implant Crowns.

Implants for: Denture Stabilization

More Dental Implant PatientsOver-denture implants’ are a dependable alternative to unreliable adhesives and feature a replacement tooth root to hold a denture securely in place. Whether you’re in need of dentures or have worn them for years, dental implants could change your life. A few implant posts will hold a complete denture in place. In some situations, our lab can retrofit a patient’s existing denture with snaps so that it attaches to implant posts. Dr. Baluschak will discuss this option with you if it is feasible. Quality of life is important at any age. If you wear dentures that slip and wobble, to reestablish confidence and good oral function, talk with Dr. Baluschak about Over-Denture Implants.

Before an Implant

Because implant posts are secured into the sockets left by missing teeth, you’ll need dense jawbone tissue and good oral health. In some cases, Dr. Baluschak may recommend bone grafting, periodontal therapy, or other procedures to prepare a patient for successful implant placement. Mini dental implants may also be an option.

What to Expect

As a general dentist with training in implant dentistry, Dr. Baluschak works with trusted colleagues, specialists who perform dental implant post placement in a brief oral surgery. These specialists can also do pre-implant procedures, like grafting. Dr. Baluschak will coordinate your implant case with the specialists in an interdisciplinary approach that centers on your best interests.

The oral surgeon will secure small, biocompatible posts into your jaw where teeth are missing. Each post must be precisely placed for correct positioning and optimal stability. Bone naturally fuses to the posts, creating a replacement tooth root that will stabilize your new implant teeth. You will be fitted with a temporary tooth until your mouth completely heals.

Your New Teeth

dental implant modelDr. Baluschak will design and fabricate your individual crowns, bridge, or denture. Our dental laboratory uses premium materials for comfortable, lifelike prosthetics. You’ll meet with Dr. Baluschak a few times to make sure that the new teeth fit comfortably with your occlusion (how upper and lower teeth fit together) and/or your denture is stationary.

In some situations, our lab can retrofit a patient’s existing denture with snaps so that it attaches to implant posts. Dr. Baluschak will discuss this option with you if it is feasible.

Don't Wait

You deserve a solid, secure, beautiful smile that allows you to eat and speak without discomfort. Postponing dental implant placement will cause your jawbone to continue degenerating, which could create the need for bone grafting in the future. There is no benefit to waiting for replacement teeth. Reclaim your quality of life and sensational smile today. Schedule your implant consultation with Dr. Baluschak!
